Rachel Douglas-Jones and RA Qiuyu  Jiang presented a work-in-progress paper at the Hematopolitics Symposium, Leeds University, on May 24th 2022. Rachel and Qiuyu have been working on a paper describing the incorporation of blood donation in to social credit, and the discourses of trustworthiness that emerged around it in 2019. Speaking on Panel 4: The Political and Moral Economy of Blood Donation, Rachel and Qiuyu presented “Credit Conversions: Quantification and Moral Narratives in China’s 2019 Policy to Include Blood Donation in Social Credit” alongside papers from Emily Avera, Rachel Thorpe, Vera Raivola, Barbara Masser, and Rachel Hale.
