Transforming care for adolescents with type 1 diabetes
The transition from childhood to adulthood is generally considered a challenging process. However, it is particularly difficult for teens with type 1 diabetes (T1D). As teenagers with T1D become more independent, their needs and practices around their T1D technologies are gradually transformed. This transformation includes a shift in responsibilities from care by others to self care. Subproject 2 will explore deeply situated design as a means of designing care tech in general, and for this demographic in particular.
