Registration opens Feb 1

The abstracts are in – there are so many interesting research perspectives on Death Online!

February 1 all authors are notifed, and the registration opens the same day. We are in for a treat – and the low-cost set-up (Zoom) means that we are able to offer the symposium to junior reseachers for free!

DORS#5: April 21-23, 2021 on Zoom

We are happy to announce that DORS#5 will be on Zoom, hosted on the secure server at the IT University of Copenhagen, Denmark, April 21-23, 2021. As the coordinating committee dare not hope for a spring without continued international travel restrictions, we move the symposium online and opt for more attendants than ever! The program will accomodate different timezones, and we have used the opportunity to add a third keynote

Find the Call For Papers here – we welcome every researcher with an interest in Death Online. The deadline for abstract submission is moved to December 7 – and attendance is FREE for junior researchers!

DORS#5 postponed to 2021

Today, the international DORS coordinating committee decided to postpone the DORS#5 symposium until next year (probably April; the dates will be announced within this month).

Thanks to those of you who during the last week informed us on different Covid-19 related restrictions on your travel possibilities – this sad information gave a picture of global precaution that helped us reach the decision without too much doubt. The committee agreed upon our network not being suited for a hybrid online-offline solution, as the actual meeting each other is a huge part of the attraction.

The most likely scenario for 2021 is that we are going to use more or less the same call for abstracts in yet another round, with all already accepted abstracts on a kind of fast track (with an opening for updates). But nothing is decided yet, so stay tuned.

Stay tuned

Unfortunately, the corona virus issue might influence also DORS#5.  We have had a few presenters cancel already and we are aware of some local institutional restrictions. However, we do not yet have the full picture and the organizing committee meets March 11 to decide on how to proceed (if we keep up the plans or somehow postpone). Stay tuned!
