{"id":24,"date":"2014-08-26T11:46:05","date_gmt":"2014-08-26T11:46:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogit.itu.dk\/denc2014\/?page_id=24"},"modified":"2014-09-12T12:41:45","modified_gmt":"2014-09-12T12:41:45","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogit.itu.dk\/denc2014\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"ABOUT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Course content<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Exploring Network Culture<\/em> is an advanced MA-course which focus on in-depth discussions of various aspects of living in,\u00a0 understanding and analysing networked cultures.\u00a0 We address the\u00a0field\u00a0\u00fasing insights from\u00a0research within the\u00a0fields of Humanities, Social Sciences and Human-Computer Interaction.<\/p>\n<p>The goal of the course is to:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Further develop and refine analytical and methodological skills related to the study of networked culture<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Gain insight into specific research fields in the study of networked culture.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Relevant themes<\/strong> covered in this course include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Research on networked culture in specified research areas<br \/>\n\u2022 Social identity work in networked communities<br \/>\n\u2022 Trolling, hacktivism and dark play<br \/>\n\u2022 Notions of citizenship, empowerment and participation in networked culture<br \/>\n\u2022 Activism and radical politics in a networked context<br \/>\n\u2022 Ethical and methodological perspectives challenges<br \/>\n\u2022 Viral culture<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course language<\/strong><br \/>\nMost lectures will be in Danish, but some in English, depending on the lecturer. Following also discussions and exercises might be either in Danish or English. Assignments and exam papers are to be written in Danish, unless we agree otherwise on individual basis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mandatory activities<\/strong><br \/>\nThis course requires two mandatory activities.<\/p>\n<p>1) Hand-in of a two page project description prior to the project presentation day<\/p>\n<p>2) Active presentation at the project presentation day, Nov. 14th<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course material<br \/>\n<\/strong>Readings for the course consists primarily of journal articles, available on the web or shared through this blog or LearnIT.
