On February 11th, 2025, Hasib Ahsan, PostDoc at the Decoupling IT project, joined experts from Arizona State University (ASU) and SUNY Korea as a speaker (virtually) at an open forum titled “Artificial Intelligence, Sustainable Society, and Global Development.” Hosted by ASU’s School for the Future of Innovation in Society, the event examined AI’s transformative role in healthcare, education, climate resilience, and public policy, with a focus on under-resourced regions. Discussions highlighted urgent ethical challenges and the uneven impacts of AI adoption in the Global South, emphasizing the need for equitable, context-sensitive technological solutions to drive inclusive development.
